I wouldn't be surprised to find a finger licking good piece of something
(now unidentifiable) in a Time Capsule at some point...
:)

However, Julie does bring up an issue I've been dealing with. We have
lots of items in the Archives that the AAT doesn't currently have terms
for (vibrators, prescription drugs, ketchup and mustard packets,
cigarettes) not to mention subjects (drag queens, transvestites, etc.)

Are they very many people out there in TMS land, attempting to do
subject cataloguing on their collection? I'm curious. How
successful/unsuccessful has it been using the AAT to find appropriate
terms?

Allison

But then I would have to determine if it was crispy or original
recipe...

It is a 17th century Dutch painting, depicting various poultry.
Or, all the works we have which depict a horse.

There is no animal section of the AAT - are you looking to describe a
depiction of a chicken, or have you accessioned parts of a chicken?

Subject: TMS listserv, AAT and animals

Has anyone had any luck with the AAT and animals? When searching for
Horse, all I found for the single term 'horse' was a piece of equipment:
framework functioning as a temporary support.
When searching for chicken, all I found were chicken related pieces,
such as a chicken coup. But nothing that refers to poultry, foul, bird
or hen.
Am I missing the 'animal' section somewhere?
Or, I am trying to get something out of the AAT that does not exist.

Thank you,
Julie Thies
