For KI, Utah got financial support from 3 foundations, a bank, and the
travel council. We approached a few food related corporations, but were
either too late for the marketing budget or the rural sites weren't large
enough to interest the publicity angle. Major food-related companies were
global and didn't have monies for Utah community relations and local
food-related companies weren't interested in a statewide effort. Perhaps we
needed a better corporate sponsorship benefits and more time.
On the local level, venues were able to get support through food-related
businesses in their communities from funding, providing historic displays,
and hosting events. That has been really positive with KI for the hosts.
Happy Feasting!
