Hello everyone -

I'm replying to an old email regarding entering provenance in TMS,
because we just launched our group of provenance disclosure paintings on
our website using emuseum. We enter provenance into the provenance
field in TMS (documentation tab) and emuseum pulls that field, and
others, and displays them on our website. Our IT department did have to
make some adjustments to emuseum, but it all worked in the end. They
update the emuseum site every other week (or more frequently if need
be). The only issue that we haven't solved is being able to put
multiple titles on the site.

I don't know if this helps others who are trying to enter and display
provenance, but this is how we did it. Our website is www.slam.org

You can find the provenance group under provenance research.

Hi Stephanie,

We have entered Nazi provenance research in TMS, and it does appear on
pour website. We are also following the AAM Guide. The provenance
information on our web site is actually in a special linked section
rather than as part of online collection records. The data is linked
directly from TMS to the website. Having a special provenance link makes
this info easier to find than trying to find it through our collections
online.

Subject: Entering Provenance in TMS

Hi All,
I am wondering what format you are using to enter provenance. Some
curators here are following the AAM Guide to Provenance Research
format, with slight variation. For institutions that are posting
provenance on their websites, is this information being retrieved for
your websites directly from TMS or from another database (perhaps with
links to to TMS)? If not directly from TMS, is the information being
entered into TMS as well?

Thank you!
