I second Jeri's comments - MediaLoader works well for us, although you
need to be sure and do some serious QA on the data before you run it.

We have image managers in each department prepare the MediaLoader
(Access) table for their new images, using batch files to "harvest"
lists of image file names, import them into Access, and then run a
variety of queries to add/update the data. Support staff then run some
more QA queries to verify the data before it's imported. All in all, it
takes people who are comfortable working in Access, but works very
nicely when everything's in place and people are up to speed on the
procedures.

Hi Suzanne,

We're using the medialoader plug-in from GS, and it works beautifully.

Give them a call - it's well worth a bit of time for the initial set
up
and then deciding on the best workflow for its use. You just have to
be
extra careful not to make a mistake on a large batch of images. We
have
a couple of pairs of eyes on each set before it's run.

I've also found "Convert Images" under the Media module's Tools menu
very useful for creating thumbnail images for a folder of jpegs in one
fell swoop.

Subject: carpel tunnel relief (not junk!)

Hi all,

I figured out it takes about 23 mouse clicks to add one image and its
thumbnail to TMS. I know I'm going to get carpel tunnel in my
clicking
finger if I can't figure out a better way. I seem to recall that it
is
possible to upload images in some kind of a batch mode? Can anyone
help
me? I'm taking about 100 - 1000 pix each day and need to get 'em in
there quickly after I rename all the files. Not counting the file
renaming - I am clicking 2,300 to 23,000 times a day - ouch.

Thank you all.

Suzanne
