Hello All,
One of the few British newspapers to have picked up on the proposed
closure of the Textile Conservation Centre is the satirical news
magazine 'Private Eye'. Unfortunately, the full article is not
available at their website but those who are curious to read it can find
it on the news stands now. Issue number 1199. Their headline reads
'Textile Conservation Stitch-up' and the article is critical of the
University of Southampton's perceived attempt to grab the TCC's
facilities and purpose-built building.
Thanks are due to Mr. Hislop and the team at Private Eye.

Joanne Hackett.
