Hello all,

I would highly recommend relating your rendition numbers to your object
accession numbers.  We've done that for several years with suffixes
determining original media type and the rendition sequence (for objects
with multiple images).  Almost six years later, no problems.  Our image
filenames also contain the accession numbers so it is very easy to
search and retrieve media records and the archived images.

Our system is slightly more involved than I'm describing here, but not
much, so if you would like more information don't hesitate to get in
