Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The Board of Directors of the North American Textile Conservation Conference is pleased to invite you to Québec City, Québec, Canada to attend the Seventh Biennial Conference: Conservation of Three-dimensional Textiles from September 30 through Oct 3, 2009. The conference is sponsored by the Ville de Québec, Maison des métiers darts de Québec (GÉGEP de Limoilou) and the Fondation Little/Ragusich: conservation-restoration of cultural heritage administered by the Fondation communautaire du grand Québec.

The conference will open on Friday, October 2, 2009. The two-day conference program will include 17 presentations, eight posters, two evening receptions, and lunch during the conference. Presentation of papers and posters will take place at the Complex G of the Provincial government of Québec. The keynote presentation will be delivered by Miriam Clavir, author of the prize winning scholarly book, Preserving What is Valued: Museums, Conservation and First Nations.

Five concurrent workshops will be held on the two days preceding the start of the conference. Workshops will take place at the Centre de conservation du Québec, Maison Chevalier, Maison Henry-Stuart, Musée des Ursulines de Québec and Musée Huron-Wendat. The second day of workshops will conclude with the internationally renowned Les Violons du Roy performing in an evening concert fundraising event: Tango! at the Palais Montcalm de Québec music hall, one of the finest music halls in the world.
