Hello

Just wondering how you record locations for removable drawers in cabinets
etc. We have a number of small ‘Bisley’ type multidrawer filing cabinets that
are small enough to be moved in their entirety. Within each of these cabinets
are removable drawers.

Long term, these cabinets will not move.

My thoughts therefore on how to record the locations is to treat the cabinet
as a ‘fixed’ location in the location authority; and treat their removable
drawers as containers.

So that we know which drawer ‘lives’ in which cabinets I plan to name them
something like:

‘Fixed’ filing cabinet Jewellery 01	Jewellery 02	Miniatures 01
Moveable drawers J1 drawer A	J2 drawer A	M1 drawer A
 	              J1 drawer K	J2 drawer K	M1 drawer K

By having J1 etc. as part of the container’s name then it should be obvious
that they ‘live’ in cabinet ‘Jewellery 01’.

Your thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

Many thanks
