You can set this in Configuration (at least as of 9.35).

On the Manage Configurations screen, you'll find it in the System
folder:
ListView.MaxRecords.Export

Yes, its obvious everyone would like to do them differently.  I think
for us, we would need to probably fiddle with it for long enough that
maybe just 'dumb' folders (managed by sysadmin, perhaps), is the way to
go.

while we're on the subject, is the 5000 record excel export bumped up?
we'd love 100,000.. or at least 65534 or whatever the excel max is :)
