Hi everyone,
Those of you hosting, or preparing to host New Harmonies in your state
might be interested in the website www.folkstreams.net
The websites streams documentaries (free!) and about 75% of their
catalog is devoted to roots music. You'll find everything from Lomax's
"Land Where the Blues Began" to "Gandy Dancers" to films on New England
fiddlers.
Many of the films were made by well-known folklorists (well there's an
oxymoron for you). Thus, you'll find most of the rest of the titles
have to do with quilts, baskets, or something so incredibly obscure only
a folklorist would care about it. Enjoy.
