Dear Karin,

Perhaps it is worth to experiment with solid CO2 (dry ice). It is
relatively easy to find or even self-made from compressed CO2, safe
(gloves!)and easy to handle as it is in solid state. In fact any
compressed gas cools down when decompresses so you can experiment In my
Faculty we have similar problem with an easel painting (melted foil stuck
to the face of it) and we are going to try CO2.

Best Regards

Pawel
