Chrisy,

I found the 'Object Status' field in Constituents > Constituent Xrefs > Objects in 'available hierarchies'

I was able to add the 'Object Status' field in the 'Object Related Constituents' advanced query group.

Now I know how many artists are represented in the collection!

Hi Noel,

I was able to enter the Object Status into an Advanced Query in the Constituents module by selecting it from the Constituents hierarchy: Constituents > Constituent Alternate Names > Constituent Xrefs Details >Constituent Xrefs > Objects > Object Statuses. See if that might work for you. Then you can search permanent collection as the object status, and refine for the role "artist" or any Object-Related Role that would want to query for.

Hope that helps,

Chrisy

Subject: Searching for Artists in Collection from Constituents module

Hello TMS Users,

Yesterday, I was (naively?) hoping that I could execute a simple Advanced Query search from the Constituents module of all the artists represented in the collection. Low and behold I couldn't do it.

We enter information on borrowed objects, and their associated constituents, in TMS. Thus many of the Object-related Constituents with the Role of 'Artist' do not relate to the permanent collection. I don't want these artist/constituents included in my search.

I tried adding the Object Status field from the Objects module, where 'accessioned object' is one of the values you can select from, into the Constituents or Object-related Constituents query group configured for the Constituents module, but was not allowed to do so.

Anyway, has anyone executed a Constituents module search to retrieve artists represented in the collection, and, if so, how did you do it?

Thanks.

Noel
