External Email - Exercise Caution Hi Michael, we have large collections containing mostly archival material and photographs, but also objects belonging to various departments (our departments mirror organizational departments - archive, art department, etc). In our old system (we are in the process of migrating to TMS Collections) we structured these collections mainly by creating a hierarchy of object records using parent-child-relationships. We experimented with our thesaurus module, too. Now we are going to rely more heavily on the thesaurus functionality (hoping that it will improve in TMS - adding multiple attributes is very timeconsuming and we are hoping for a good search functionality in one of the next releases). So we build the hierarchy in the thesaurus module and use it for grouping objects. We have a mix of artifacts and archival material, mostly archival material. We would like to create hierarchies from our department lists. Things were set up by our predecessors where departments meant "record groups" and we have been relying on the object title to help describe series and subseries. I am curious to hear how others handle this situation. Thanks in advance!
