New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation's Peebles Island Resource Center is offering summer internships in Textile Conservation. The stipend for the eight-week internship is $3,000. Applicants must have completed at least one year of a conservation graduate program or have had at least one full-time year of apprentice training in a textile conservation lab.
The intern will work with the Textile Conservator and Assistant Textile Conservator on the New York State Battle Flag Preservation Program. Projects will include documentation and
stabilization treatments of Civil War flags from the collection of the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs.
