I am about to unroll 5 large fragile silk civil war flags and was wondering what conservators have used to temporarily encapsulate them with. I want to use something that is transparent enough to clearly see the textile through. I was thinking of using mosquito netting, though at $15.00 per yard it is a bit expensive.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thank you.
