Brenda is correct that you should have no trouble running TMS on Vista
as long as you are on TMS 9.35 Service Pack 3 or higher.

Well, our technical services division is upgrading ALL our PCs to Vista,
so it's coming whether we want it to or not! It's good to be prepared
for what to expect however, so I appreciate your feedback.

Cathryn: interesting about the good performance. Are you on Service
Pack 3 or 4? I know 4 fixes some problems with User Defined Forms, but
I haven't heard anything about Data Views...

I have to agree - we've experienced oddities with custom data views
with TMS on Vista - data views that work fine on xp....we're on windows
servers and haven't noticed slower performance.

I would avoid Vista if possible; there are certainly no advantages to
using it.

Subject: TMS and Vista: a quick question

Hi all,

The Getty is upgrading Getty staff computers to Windows Vista, and
during our testing with TMS we noticed that response times are markedly
slower than they are now -- general navigation in the system and running
queries appears to be a bit sluggish. I have heard that Vista in
general is markedly slower than previous versions of Windows, but I
wonder if there are any of you out there who have made this change
already and can confirm or deny?

And if you're running TMS on Oracle, could you mention that as well?

Many thanks,

Brenda
