As an addition question to this poll, I would be interested in know how others are capturing Gender data. Our current workflow to add a simple bit of data in Constituents is as follows:

1.	Select the “Other” tab
2.	Click the “Add” button in Attributes
3.	Select “Gender” from the Attribute Type drop-down (in the Attributes window)
4.	Click the “Browse” button
5.	Double-click the gender value
6.	Click “OK”

We are still on TMS2012. Perhaps there is an easier way in later versions? (We are upgrading to TMS2016 r2 in the next couple of months.)

But to answer the original questions:

1. Do you record a 'Gender' for your Object-related Constituents (i.e. artists) in TMS? (y / n) Yes, but very haphazardly at this point

2. If yes, have you adopted a more extensive term list for gender identity than the traditional male / female? (y / n)  No, but it has been discussed

3. Do you assign a gender term only based on an individual's self-assignment? (y / n)  No, but this will be considered

4. Is your recorded artist gender data for internal use only?  (y, n or n/a)  Presently

5. If it's published online, can website users search or filter your collections by gender? (y, n or n/a) No, not at this time
