We use the object status "Cancelled Accession" and note the circumstances in the Objects.Notes field, which is used just for Registrars. Fortunately, there are not many of these.

Subject: Voided Accession Numbers
Hi all,
How do you document in TMS a voided accession number? A recent gift was withdrawn after accession numbers were assigned, and we currently don't have formal policies in place for documenting voided accessions in TMS. How does your institution handle a situation like this?
Thanks for your help!
Jennifer
