As many of you may be aware, the Turtle Hospital in Marathon Florida
was severely damaged by Hurricane Wilma this past October. Being on the
receiving end of a ~8' storm surge the holding facilities, the hotel,
and parts of the hospital were underwater. They lost a large portion of
their equipment (laser, freezer, x-ray, etc.), sustained damage to
their holding facilities (tanks, pumps, filters, electrical), and were
forced to close down the hotel portion of their operations which
supported the activities of the Hospital. Despite this, they kept their
doors open to turtles in distress and now continue the long process of
recovering and rebuilding. Insurance will only cover a small portion of
the losses so here is one simple way that you can help this facility to
get back on its feet and continue their efforts. If you cannot attend,
please consider a small donation. Every little bit
helps!SeaTurtleFundraiser
