Dear friends,

As a condition of hosting a MoMS exhibition, our Council has required
each participating site/museum to submit a grant application to NMHC to
implement companion humanities based programs that compliment the themes
of the MoMS exhibit. Last year when NM toured Between Fences, all seven
communities hosting the exhibit applied for an NMHC grant and all were
successful in receiving NMHC grant funds to implement their companion
exhibits/programs.
Our council has not created a different application for the hosting
sites that is separate from our NMHC Grant application. Hosting sites
applied for mini grants and regular grants according to our deadlines
and their tour dates. Since this was successful in bringing humanities
programs to their organizations and communities, the council is having
the hosting sites from the Key Ingredients tour apply for an NMHC
grant. This condition is a part of their contract with the council.
Hosting sites enter the grant pool in open competition with other
applicants and are not guaranteed that they will be funded. I work very
closely with the hosting sites to help them submit a strong application.
Some hosting sites have needed more assistance from NMHC staff than
others, however it's been a win-win situation for everyone involved.

I hope this email finds you well. If you have questions please feel
free to contact me.

Best regards,

K. Michelle Quisenberry
