Dear Sarah,
due to vacation time: a late answer to your question.
Another valuable source of information are the Melliand Textilberichte
which are also translated into English. The subscription is expensive,
but at least in Europe, most Technical Univeristies have subscriptions
to either the journal (I think it is monthly) or the online version.
Here the web coordinates: http://www.textilexpert.com/Melliand.html
Good luck!
As an additional information: there will be a meeting "the future of the
twentieth century - collecting, interpreting and conserving modern
materials" July 26-28th 2005 at the Research Centre for Textile
Conservation & Textile Studies, University of Southampton (UK). They
have just sent out a first call for papers. Their contact is:
[log in to unmask] Maybe we will hear first results of your interesting
research there?

Kind regards,
Karin von Lerber
