PHILADELPHIA MUSEUM OF ART

 

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is offering a Mellon Postgraduate
Fellowship in the conservation of costume and textiles beginning early
to mid-October 2013. The Fellowship is for one year with the possibility
of extension. The applicant should be a graduate of a recognized
conservation training program or have equivalent experience. Work will
include technical examination, treatment, research, and preservation
activities on costume and textiles in the Museum's collections. 

 

The Fellowship includes an annual stipend of $34,500, health insurance,
a $3,000 travel supplement, and a $2,000 research supplement.
Applications should be sent electronically: pdf files containing
statement of interest, resume, transcripts of graduate courses, and four
examples of examination reports and treatment records with photographs.
Please include any published treatments or research. Electronic

subject line: "Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship in Costume and Textile
Conservation."  Confidential supporting letters from three conservation
professionals familiar with the applicant's work should be sent directly
to: Sara Reiter, The Penny and Bob Fox Conservator of Costume and
Textiles, P. O. Box 7646, Philadelphia, PA  19101-7646. Questions can be
