I would tend make this information part of condition/ conservation.

Cheers,

Hi Ella,

Although the reasons vary for why you may not want to have a work travel,
what we have done is to set up a type of survey in the Conservation Module
called "Travel/Handling Recommendations", with the choice "May not Travel"
appearing in the drop-down box for Overall Condition. We intend to use the
Remarks field to talk about why something may not travel. I think this is a
good place for us, because we will always be checking the condition history
of an object, before we loan it out. If the item is not fit to travel, we
will see it listed as such over in the left hand side of the screen, along
with the other surveys for that object. It will also be easy to do a search
on all items not recommended for travel, by simply searching on the Overall
Condition Field.

Maybe this will work for you? Or, if anyone has a better idea, I'd be
curious to know other options too.
Thanks,
Allison

Subject: flagging do-not-lend works

We are trying to figure out a way to flag objects as do-not-lend in TMS. We
are contemplating two options - one being a status flag, and the other is
renaming a check box at the top of the data entry screen that we currently
do not use. Our issues with both have to do with visibility. With the
status flag, we don't want to advertise this flag to all our TMS users, and
I can't restrict viewing for only one flag. With the check box solution,
while I do have more security options, we're concerned that they are too
invisible up there. Plus there is the issue of whether or not we want to
commandeer one for a new purpose - something that I want to think through
before we do.

How do others flag do-not-lend works? Is there another solution that I
haven't thought of?

Thank you,
