Appreciate everyone sharing their methods!

Sarah, Nicola: I've been experimenting with a similar method; in my case, using a PowerPoint + [insert whatever screenshot program I'm currently trying out] combination. I've found the annotation tools in PowerPoint to be great. No blur tool, though (such as is found in the dedicated screenshot programs like Greenshot, SnagIt, etc.). I only recently realized that you can take video screenshots directly from PowerPoint (sometimes I need to do that for when things get too complex for static screenshots). I had been previously been using VLC. Doing it from PowerPoint is much easier.
Meredith: I love the idea of having the documentation being the TMS landing page. That's a fantastic idea.
Shyam: in a previous life, I started a company wiki (well...a wiki for me and the other guy in the design department) to track the intricate document management needs of a client company. It was great; I hadn't thought about it in a long time. I'll check out Confluence (and other wiki options).
Chad: I just downloaded Greenshot. I've heard good things about it from several people I trust. For multi-step process documentation, do you paste Greenshots into Word?
Becca: When things get really complex (especially for our DAM), I'm going to have to resort to video. I recently downloaded OBS studio (now I have to learn how to use it). Bridge looks like a great solution for onboarding. I'll have to see if our University uses anything similar.

In terms of static screenshot utilities, the closest I've come to finding a replacement for Clarify is StepShot https://stepshot.net/
I downloaded a trial months ago, but wasn't quite satisfied. I may have to give it another try.

Thank you, all.

Subject: Re: What software do you use for TMS how-to's and tutorials?

Hi, We use a number of products at AIC which have been very successful. I make training videos using ScreenFlow7 and export as MP3 etc. and store them on a shared drive. The program allows me to annotate the videos, update them for new features, and even call things out in a screen view. I also use GIPHY CAPTURE to make gifs of actions in the system. We do the usual powerpoint, documents, and screenshots with annotations. We also port those into a google site so they are searchable (this used to be a WordPress, but we have moved off that). Our HR department recently implemented a product called Bridge (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.getbridge.com_&d=DwIFaQ&c=imBPVzF25OnBgGmVOlcsiEgHoG1i6YHLR0Sj_gZ4adc&r=xIHEgypYySGRWspAy0smePxOSW4E7wkoK2TQipl7-WA&m=5BbLHHpOiU3VeujqjpCJxLAE4qcTITv1sG-iwTEmKPU&s=5HMlAUQ1dJfzMEhqQL9OS2Jvg62bgFU0zso4pHDm8uE&e=) for training, so now I can compose courses that include videos, documents, vocabulary, and quizzes for users. I require a passing score for them to even get access. All documentation is stored on the single drive and linked out to all products so I can manage version control throughout.
