Hello Fellow TMSUSERS.

We here at Moderna museet in Stockholm have just finished a bulk insert of 4000 pictures in to TMS using two nice tools from Gallery systems, MediaLoader and Thumbnailer. After some initial headache they worked quit well. You can download them and papers on them from Gallery systems web site.
The Thumbnailer tool is very similar to the Edit Thumbnail tool in the media module but can work with one rendition, current selection or all pictures, not just one at a time. This tool also have a padding feature that the Edit Thumbnail does not have and it lets you pad the images to squares with any hex definable colour. If you pad the images with white you are able to use them in Crystal Reports reports with good results. You do not have to use the "can grow" in CR, and possibly get some pictures growing very large, they will all stay the same size and thereby behave deterministic and the white padding becomes transparent in the report. The only "drawback" is that the white padding shows in TMS.
It is not hard to add pictures in your favourite existing reports. In CR you just ad the MainImage table to your existing report. The MainImage table only has 3 columns, id, tableid and the thumbBLOB. Link (left outer join) the id column in your report to the id column in MainImage and filter accordingly on the tableid column (108=objects, 23=constituents) and then ad the BLOB to the report.
