I was wondering how other institutions assign maker roles for prints.  We are having a discussion here about what to call the person who created the idea/work on which the print is made (after? inventor?).  Also, I am interested in whether other TMS users delineate each role in the printing process (draftsman, printmaker, etc.) or use other terms.  Do other institutions use the role "artist" when cataloging prints, and if so, who in the printmaking process is considered the artist?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
