Registrar for Collections Management, Registrar, The J. Paul Getty
Museum
Maintains data in the collections information system, using
TMS (The Museum System) and assists with collections management activities in
the areas of accessioning, deaccessioning, inventory control, location tracking,
collection moves, approval history and value history. Records and monitors
relocations of objects within the Museum. Conducts periodic audits of the
collections and liaises with Security on art counts in the galleries. Creates
queries and reports for staff in and outside the department. Enters and proofs
new records, including acquisitions, loans, temporary deposits and special
exhibitions. Drafts and implements collections management policies and
procedures. Undertakes data cleanup and proofing projects as needed. Assists
with documentation, support and training. Qualifications: Bachelors degree
required, plus a minimum of 1 to 2 years museum registration experience, or some
experience that would develop skills in collections management. Experience with
an automated collections management system and Windows-based software packages.
Crystal Reports experience preferred. Strong administrative skills to handle
paperwork and meet deadlines. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Send
