Information Tech Specialist

GS-2210-9 (Salary range: $46,041 - $59,852 per year)

 

THIS IS A FEDERAL FUNDED PERMANENT APPOINTMENT.   THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS PACKAGE INCLUDING HEALTH INSURANCE, LIFE INSURANCE, AND SICK/ANNUAL LEAVE ACCRUAL.

 

Major Duties:

Incumbent is assigned to the Division of Registration & Loans and assists in maintaining and updating The National Gallery’s collection management system.  This system is the underpinning for many integrated business practices relating to the collection and is a major component of the Gallery’s business practices overall and system data is a highly accessible resource to users both inside and outside the institution.  Incumbent assists the Collections Information Systems Coordinator in the conversion to a new system and provides daily support for system users.  Creates and modifies reports that support workflow and project management needs, provides user training for data entry, queries, and report production, and maintains documentation of system configuration and use.

 

 

Qualifications:

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for GS-2210-9.  This requires having at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in responsibility to the GS-7 level in the Federal service OR a Master’s degree in a directly-related field of study demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job.  Specialized experience is professional information system work involving museum-based collection management automation projects of fine and decorative art objects.  An equivalent combination of education and experience is fully qualifying and meets the minimum qualification requirements.

 

Federal status candidates must meet the time-in-grade requirements of having been at the GS-7 level for at least one year.
