Hi Ashley,
You can create a stored
procedure or a trigger in SQL Server that generates an email (or RSS feed) directly
from your TMS server, assuming your server is configured to permit it. There
are pros and cons to using SQL Server for pushing email, and everyone’s
security and configuration setup is different. However, it’s easily done,
and MS Reporting Services isn’t a requirement (although it is a great
tool and makes data look pretty!).
And to follow up on Angelika’s
question: I would also love any information about SQL Server and Exchange or
Sharepoint server integration for the purposes of calendaring.
Hope this helps & best
wishes,
Ariana

Subject: Outlook and TMS
Hello wise TMS users-
I have a question regarding Microsoft Outlook and TMS.
I seem recall hearing about the ability to have the TMS system
‘talk’ to Outlook for deadlines and scheduled moves. Has anyone
successfully done this or can it even be done? And does it need a lot of work
from our IT department? Just curious…
Thanks,
Ashley
