As it is often an exhibition copy (which we would have entered as a component), rather than the entire artwork, that is destroyed, we use a Location of "destroyed" for the relevant component. -----Original Message----- From: The Museum System (TMS) Users [mailto:[log in to unmask]]On Behalf Of Linda Pulliam Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2009 12:07 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Destroyed "Objects" Hi Alexis: We use an Object Status called: Disposed, and we write an explanation of the situation in the Source Notes field. We are considering indicating "deaccessioned" in Object Status, but I am not sure it is specific enough without further explanation in another field. Does anyone use Object Status "destroyed", or something else? We do not want to delete the object records themselves.
