Hi
Stephanie from South Dakota!
Georgia is also hosting the N. H. exhibit in 2012 and we
are pretty much in line with Ohio and Kansas. Our scholar is Ann McCleary -
a public historian - from the Center for Public History, University of West
Georgia- who also worked with us on Key Ingredients. She had conducted
roots/musical programs (her Center has produced several CDs on Georgia roots
music- in conjunction with some concerts they presented). In addition, we are
putting together an advisory board consisting of some folklore people and
others with a musical background.
If you
want to stay in touch with me - I would love to share some
more ideas.
Regards,
Arden

Hi Stephanie,
I'll answer since Dan's out of of the office.
In Kansas we used Dr. Steven Kite, a public history professor at Fort Hays
State University. Steven is also a musician and has an area of expertise
in American music history. He was the perfect fit for us.

Hello
all,
Our
state is hosting New Harmonies in 2012, so I’m in the process of searching for
scholars and host sites. For those states who have already had the
exhibit, is it best to look for scholars with Music Ed. backgrounds or is
there another discipline I should be focusing on?
Thanks
for your help!
