I have not checked the component number or running DB Config > update Parent Association. I will give that a try.

Thank you for the hints.

Hey Allison,

Have you checked the component record numbers (whenever there’s a number off, I usually find them the culprit)? Have you tried running the DB Config > Update Parent Associations?

Subject: Parent-child relationships...help! TMS2010 R2

Hi all,

I am trying to create parent-child relationship between a bottle and a stopper. I followed all the instruction and I am running into an issue that I am not sure how to trouble shoot.

I have connected the parent (bottle) to the stopper (child). When I refresh the record the information in the group field seems weird. It reads:

“Stopper: (41.900.420.B; Complete)” for the parent record 41.900.420.A

And

“Bottle: Mount Washington Glass, Bottle: Catsup Bottle (W46) (41.900.420.B; Complete)” for the child record 41.900.420.B

Shouldn’t the Child record have 41.900.420.A [parent] in the group information? At the moment it just looks like it is attached to itself.

I know this is going to be extremely confusing to some people. Is there any way around this? Am I doing something wrong?

Feel free to contact me off list.

Thank you!

Best,

Allison
