The attached is a format which works for us quite well. In addition, we make sure all previous owners are linked to the object as “ex-collection” constituents links with the role of “Previous owner.”

I’m curious how you handle citations, particularly when entering the provenance. Are you linking these citations to an authority, including the full or brief citation in the provenance field, or both?
