Everyone,

Do you know of great local history projects in your state that deserve recognition? The American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) is looking for outstanding nominees for its 2012 Leadership in History awards program. AASLH does a great job of recognizing organizations large and small for their work to produce new and exciting scholarship in programs, exhibitions, and publications. Projects don’t have to be million dollar blockbusters to receive recognition. What matters most is how honorees have stretched themselves and their communities to do innovative work.

Please encourage successful organizations in your state to consider submitting a nomination to AASLH. 2012 nominations are due to state awards captains on March 1. Nomination forms and guidelines are available at http://www.aaslh.org/aaslh_awards.htm
