Hello all, We are in the process of developing a numbering system for accessories for objects in our collection, i.e. frames, mounts, etc., using the components field. We have been thinking of using the accession number plus a suffix related to the type of accessory, so a frame for a painting with the accession number 2012.1 might be 2012.1-FR.

We were wondering what numbering systems others are using, and what accessories you are tracking. Would appreciate any input and advice as far as problems you may have encountered.
