Laura, from the time we froze data entry into Argus to the time we went live with TMS, it was 9 days.

 

Tracking the locations of objects being moved during that time was paramount.  I set up a Microsoft Access database with just the location fields to be tracked (Acc#, maker, title, new location, date moved, type of movement, and handler).  Other information to be changed (curatorial or conservation) was collected via a paper trail or e-mail notification.  Once we went live with TMS, that data was entered retroactively.

 

Good luck with the final steps.  Believe me, it was worth it!!!

We are fast approaching our conversion from Argus to TMS and will be freezing our data next week. My colleagues and I are strategizing how best to track all database transactions in the interim, and I was wondering if anyone might have an example of a form used for this purpose?
