I would need more info and images to have an opinion about this. What is the general condition of the quilt ? Will it hang from the warp or weft direction ? What do you call a "repair stitch" ? and more questions... -----Original Message----- From: mum herm <[log in to unmask]> To: TEXCONS <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Tue, Jul 10, 2012 4:48 am Subject: woven wool Would like information on restoring a home woven wool quilt that is going to hang for a few months. What would be your preference? to apply repair stitches in a horizontal - weft direction or vertical - warp direction? or both. It seems that a hanging quilt is going to have a lot of stress in the vertical direction, possibly uneven stress. Thanks for your input, Kristine Herman
