Diane-

I think when you search Dimensions, you are only searching the display box, so if all of your 27x35 are noted the same way, you should be able to search “27 x 35 in.” (or whatever your form is in the display) in Dimensions and get the results you want.

Oh well – I’ve actually never gotten the parenthesis to work with anything, and they seem like they would be so handy!

If you ever do find out a solution I would love to hear about it – I can see that this is a search I would need someday.

Good luck!

Thank you, I’ve tried that but the parens don’t work.

I haven’t tried it as I don’t currently have it set up to do a dimension search, but could you put the Type=width and Dimension=27 in parenthesis, and then repeat the Type and Dimension again with another set of parenthesis? That way I would think you would have two separate sets of criteria that need to go together to get your result, and having that Dimension field repeated wouldn’t matter as they’d be linked to the type within the parenthesis. (I hope that made sense.)

I’d try it now, but am on my way out the door – let us know if it works!

Diane.

Subject: Advance query: Dimensions

Dear All,

Does anyone how to query objects with a specific dimension element with input for dimensions for two dimension types, i.e. Width and Height?

I get as far as searching for one dimension type but not both.

i.e. Dimension element: Frame, width= 27 inches, height=35 inches

Thanks!
