I have used an iPad several times with TMS using 2X Client to RDP to my desktop. It is a free RDP app. It does require the desktop to be set up allowing RDP connections and the client to be configured but it works well. It is running over our wireless network. I have a Bluetooth keyboard for the iPad and am able to use it within TMS instead of using the onscreen keyboard. This makes it much easier to use. 2X Client also has a mouse icon that you can click on that will give you the click to select ability. I've used it on an Apple laptop, but not an ipad yet. I installed a free RDP app called TeamViewer 7 on an ipad, but it was unusable since the desktop image was too small to be readable (at least for me). Both software require an installation on the Apple product and your office workstation and a unique ID/password. Everyone uses whatever RDP client they want to. For the iPad a pretty good one is "Jump" from Phase Five Systems. It costs $14.99. I use Jaadu RDP for my iPhone. The keyboards are a pain, of course, but when you need to look something up at an unexpected time or place, it's great to be able to use a computer in your pocket. If so, I'd be interested in knowing what the pros and cons are of using TMS remotely on an iPad vs. a laptop. thanks, Maja Maja Clark Collections Manager, Shangri La Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art www.shangrilahawaii.org<http://www.shangrilahawaii.org> To unsubscribe, send an email to [log in to unmask] with the following commands in the body of the email: signoff TMSUSERS // eoj You will receive a confirmation that your subscription has been removed.
