Greetings Colleagues, I'm posting on behalf of a colleague at the American Museum of Natural History in New York: Please consider completing a very short survey on the care and conservation of fur and feather materials in your collection: <URL:http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8KLR2M8> The American Museum of Natural History recently completed an extensive renovation of the historic dioramas in its Hall of North American Mammals. In the course of this work, many advances were made in the development of materials and methods for the care and conservation of mammal and avian taxidermy. Equally plentiful, however, were new questions and opportunities to consider where techniques could be further improved in support of future preservation efforts. The survey aims to investigate the extent to which the avenues for further research identified at the AMNH coincide with needs observed throughout the larger community of those caring for cultural and historical collections that include fur and feather materials. Thank you for contributing.
