Hi Janine, In my previous role at Bradford College Textile Archive, we also implemented TMS for our archival collection. I tended to use the Objects Module mostly for creating a group record for our textile sample books and then assigning "Child" records for each of the samples within the book. This worked well, however did threaten to become a bit unwieldy baring in mind the size of the collection and the fact that this cataloguing process was started from scratch. I then used Constituents Module to assign maker/designer/author etc Exhibitions Module for any loan-out displays (we didn't organise exhibitions at the archive) Loans Module to document any loans-out (then attached to the relevant Exhibition record) I'm not sure how well this has progressed in the last 6 months so it might be worth getting in touch with the current Archivist there, Helen Farrar ([log in to unmask]). Our archive uses all modules of TMS: Objects: important works from students or professors, donations, archive documents, publications Exhibitions: documentation of all exhibitions of the Museum of Design Zurich Sites - we renamed this module to Projects: research projects, excursions, competitions, projects of classes, donations with all documents, events, transdisplinary publication projects - this module is quite useful to combine objects, documents and media under a "parent title" and with several levels of context for related people. Media: of course all kind of media related to the other modules You can get an impression of the data on our emuseum site (preferable to be openend with firefox/safari): www.emuseum.ch - with "archiv" as quicksearch term you will get a big part of their public data. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone using it for this purpose to see how they like it and how difficult it was to adapt to. cheers, Janine Butler, Head of Collections/Registrar McMichael Canadian Art Collection Kleinburg, Ontario CANADA L0J 1C0 (905) 893-1121, ext. 2252 To unsubscribe, send an email to [log in to unmask] with the following commands in the body of the email: signoff TMSUSERS // eoj You will receive a confirmation that your subscription has been removed.
