I do have to say: IMAP's cataloging template is at a crossroads--both in terms of its compatibility with newer versions of FileMaker and Access, and its relation to current developments in metadata and other factors in cataloging media in both archival and museum contexts. So the template may not be the ideal starting point for a workshop, but the workshop could inform IMAP's goal of low/no-costOn March 18, 2013 at 5:17 PM Suzanne L Quigley <[log in to unmask]> wrote:
Hi Amber,Having tackled this problem once as a TMS user and once for the collection of an artist who worked in time-based media, I've been watching the discussion on the TMS listserv and wondered if it wouldn't be the perfect opportunity to pull together a panel on cataloging time-based media at the ARCS conference in Chicago. Session proposals are due at the end of the month. A whole workshop would be fabulous! I know that the Tate site is great - but IMAP actually has a template for cataloging time-based media. While it can't necessarily be mapped directly into TMS - it is a comprehensive place to begin.A proposal would be welcome!Suzanne
