I’ve just gotten confirmation that I
am approved for Collective Imagination, and I have registered for the webinar as
well. We have been using TMS 9.35 for 10 years and have over 29,000 film
element records in TMS. I’d be happy to share what I can, and learn more
about what we can do with the system, especially as we upgrade (hopefully this
summer).

All,
We’d
like to keep the momentum on this topic going so I’ve scheduled a
GoToMeeting (actually a GoToWebinar session) for next Monday, March 25, to give
everyone a chance to join in the discussion and to learn from their
colleagues. We’ll still have a public forum at Collective
Imagination in
Regarding
GoToWebinar vs GoToMeeting, GTM only allows up to 25 participants and I’m
anticipating that we may have considerably more than that. Everyone who
wishes to speak will get a chance to do so.
Please
use the link below to register. I’ll see you on Monday.
Best,

I’m
interested in discussing this as well. We have film, video, sound, and
computer-based works that don’t fit into our current templates.
Thanks!

Hi
Jared,
I'm
currently assessing TMS (2012) for cataloguing film collections. Am very
interested in discussing with others.

Thanks
to Amber and David – I may contact you both off-list after my long
weekend. It’s good to know that we’re not alone in this. We
primarily have film elements that we’re cataloging, which does have
different needs than video. Anyone also cataloging film?

Sort
of. We have existing records but there’s been some disagreement
about whether or not they are acceptable. We’re going to be taking
a close look at them in the next few weeks and most likely planning a major overhaul.
So maybe we can plan to share information!
