I would be interested in this as well. I love the drag and drop feature, but am hesitant to have it make my Media Module ‘messy’.
(Maybe GS could tweak this in the next version so it takes the next number in the approved numbering convention?) (hint, hint)
Diane.

Subject: Drag and Drop Media + Rendition Numbers
Hi all, We’ve been rolling out drag and drop media to an increasingly broader range of users, and staff now link documents and images for a variety of purposes to TMS records. My concern is from an administrative point of view, because the “dragged and dropped” media renditions have rendition numbers that equal the filename, and do not comply with the numbering convention configured in DB Config.
Example – our normal protocol is R.YEAR.SEQUENTIAL NUMBER (R.2013.123). Drag + drop is generating rendition numbers like “Detroit Institute of Art- Charts-Titus-Nov13-Jan14” or “CON_37.570_XR_1964”.
Does anyone have a logical use for the two different rendition numbering protocols? Or, alternately…any inspired workarounds for keeping Rendition numbers tidy?
