I would also very much like to have reports for this. It would be very useful! Thanks J

Chad, thanks for clarification regarding the data base server. You are correct, it will cause more problems than it solves, but it does work in crucial situations when you need to free up a license for another user. I used that method occasionally before I could control user access with a TS.
I would like to see two reports;
1. One that lists each user and groups their activity by day/date and time using TMS. Grouped to identify weekly and monthly usage by user.
2. A summary report that groups by day/date and time, TMS usage, to pinpoint the average TMS busy times and slack times.

A remote application server that is set to log users out after 60 minutes of inactivity should result in a clean logout. However terminating TMS through the SQL Server, while at times necessary, is not a viable solution. This will not close the application at the user end or record a logout in the LoginRecords table. An open user interface with no database connection is a recipe for unpleasant support calls, as the application will crash, and can generally only be closed by terminating the museum.exe process in Task Manager.
David, What sort of data would you be looking to have tabulated by this data in a report?

You can also check the entries in the LoginRecords table. This tracks the LoginID, the computer name, and date/time of their login and logout (Please note that unclean logouts may not be registered in this table).

Subject: User Stats
Hello List-Serv,
I was wondering if there is a way to obtain user stats in TMS. We’re facing a log-on mini-crisis and I need to see who is using the database, how often, for how long.
My instincts tell me this is possible to obtain, but I haven’t done it before.
Le Help?
