Everyone,

Thanks for your efforts to get the word out about this new closeout form. Several users have had trouble with the buttons at the end of the document that save, print or directly e-mail the form. We've determined that users who ran into trouble had opened the document in their web browsers from the link on our website and were typing in information to complete the form online -- a perfectly sensible behavior by any user. (I would have done the same thing.) Unfortunately, we've found that the buttons at the end will not work properly unless Adobe Reader is configured as the default PDF viewer in the user's web browser settings. (The Chrome and Firefox browsers have their own PDF viewers that are used by default, unless the user tells the browser to use Adobe Reader.)

For best results, please ask your communities that are completing the form to download the PDF form from the website to their computers and use Adobe Reader outside of their web browsers, or use the attached file. We have also changed the introductory text on this document to direct users to complete the form outside of their web browsers. The attached version of the form with the edited instructions is also now available on our website at http://museumonmainstreet.org/exhibitors/exhibitorsLocalcoordinators.html

I'm really sorry for the trouble this caused for your communities.

Best wishes,
Robbie

Subject: New Closeout Report Form for MoMS Exhibitions

Everyone,

We're introducing a new version of the Museum on Main Street exhibition closeout form with a few new questions to help capture more statistical data. And, most exciting of all, we are pleased to provide the new form as a fillable PDF form. All your venues need to do is open the document in Adobe Reader, complete the form, and at the end, press a button to save, print, or directly e-mail the completed form to MoMS.

Most project notebooks currently in circulation have the older version of the form (except for the Hometown Teams notebooks recently provided to Maryland and Kansas communities.) Please encourage your venues to stop by the MoMS website and use the new fillable form. We'll also send a note to all current venues encouraging them to check out the new form.

The new form will be available for download on the local coordinator pages on our website later today.

Thanks,
RD
