We upgraded to TMS 2012 last year and at that point began using the
Bibliography module. Historically, the museum has used the Object record
Bibliography field, but we're trying to wean users off this to the module
so we can benefit from its use as an authority control. This means
transferring a lot of content from the Object module to create new Bib
records, of course, but will ultimately mean less work in the long term.
Our users are not entirely happy with this, but I expect once the effort
has been made that will change.

Re: linking to a library system, we do not currently link to our library's
database, though I would hope to achieve that someday.

Some issues we are grappling with:

- Should we use the OCLC ref number as our Bibliography record ref number?
(I am still considering my position on this, but leaning away from it as an
option for unique identifier. If anyone has thoughts on this pro or con I'd
be interested to hear them.)

- Whether to capture gallery wall text/panel content as Bib module records.
This would allow us to capture the content (not consistently done now) and
link it across records, particularly to Exhibition records. Is anyone else
using Bib records this way? If not, how/where do you capture this content?

Emmanuelle, I would also be interested in seeing your data entry manual!

Thanks,
Frances
