Internship textile conservation

An internship („Hessenvoluntariat“) in textile conservation for the period of one year starting from 1st of June 2015 is available at Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel, an institution governing the art-historically important assets of the Federal State of Hessen at Kassel, Germany.
The Federal State of Hessen offers graduates an entry into the job market via the so-called Hessenvoluntariat, a traineeship of up to one year duration in case they have been without employment for six months following graduation. The monthly budget pre-tax will be 1.000€.

The internship aims to offer post-graduate training after studies of textile conservation (Bachelor or Master) and gives insight into the field of textile conservation. We expect ability to work independently and in a well-structured manner on conservational tasks in museum departments. An interest in the preparation of folk costume, costume and individual textiles for display on permanent exhibition would be an asset, as well as interest in tasks around preventive conservation, like Integrated Pest Management (IPM), light protection and climate.

Applications should be submitted to:
Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel
Personalverwaltung
Postfach 410420
D-34066 Kassel
quoting the reference „Hessenvoluntariat Textilrestaurierung 2015“

Date: no later than the 25th of February 2015

Unfortunately, application expenses can not be reimbursed.
