The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, Canada is currently seeking a
strong candidate to assist staff with launching and realizing a new CMS
system.  This position will report to the Manager of Registration and
act as a liaison between the Collections Management System (CMS) users
and supporting technical groups. The CMS Database Specialist and
Administrator will help to define and support functional and operational
requirements that will safeguard access and the integrity of information
stored on the new ROM CMS system. This position will work with user
groups to validate system functionality, alignment of database forms to
user workflows, directing and assisting with user acceptance testing to
ensure the new ROM CMS system meets established specialized
requirements. The realization of the ROM CMS is considered by senior
management and museum staff as a high priority item for day-to-day work,
and a critical component for sharing its extensive collections with its
local, nationals and international community.   
 
This contract position will join a strong team working on a multi-phase
implementation of an enterprise collections management system (The
Museum System – TMS), including barcoding and web application (eMuseum)
from Gallery Systems.
