The Washington Conservation Guild (WCG) will host an encore presentation of Studio Design Challenges: Creating a Safe and Practical Space,
the joint Health & Safety Committee and Conservators in Private Practice (CIPP) lecture from this years' AIC Annual Meeting in Miami.
Studio Design Challenges: Creating a Safe and Practical Space

Conservators working within small to medium-sized organizations may not have the resources of larger institutions to design a conservation laboratory that serves those performing treatments and maintains the health and safety of the practitioners. The situation
is more urgent for conservators in private practice who may have to consider the well-being of family members sharing in-home studio space. Led by architects and engineers from EwingCole, who specialize in designing cultural heritage facilities, this session
reviewed priorities and realistic goals for improving common, at-hand work spaces ranging from in-home studios to larger rented commercial spaces.

TIME: 5 pm Reception; 6 pm Lecture
LOCATION: Classroom A, located on the lower level of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg
Place, SW, Washington, DC 20024-2126. The museum closes to the public at 5:30, so please plan to arrive prior to closing. Exhibits are not open to lecture attendees.
